For today’s 5Q’s, contemporary romance author, part time bawdy songstress, and all around lovely lady Abigail Sharpe is here! The first two novels in her sexy and playful With This Ring series are available now at your favorite online retailers–check ’em out! Alrighty then, onto my questions…
Why did you start writing? I’ve always been a reader, but never thought about penning my own novel until one day I read a romance that didn’t make any sense. I thought – I could write so much better than this! So I started writing. And let me tell ya, it ain’t as easy as it looks!
What’s your favorite thing about being an author? I love when someone who has read Who Wants to Marry a Doctor or Who Wants to Marry a Cowboy sends me a message on social media or through my web page, telling me how much they enjoyed it or that they laughed or cried (or laughed *and* cried). Getting reviews is great (both negative and positive), but having a reader take that extra bit of time to seek me out gives me warm fuzzies.
Have you read anything fantastic lately? I’ve been on a YA kick lately, which isn’t my usual go-to genre. I picked up Legend by Marie Lu and was like, Whoa. I read the entire trilogy in about a week.
The best part about that is knowing my kids will like it, too. And after they read it, we can talk about it.
What can readers expect from your books? They can expect to have fun and laugh and experience the passion of falling in love. My books are a good time and will leave you emotionally satisfied.
Anything new you’d like to share? I have a newsletter that I send out every couple of months. I try to include snippets of my work in progress and maybe have a giveaway. The signup for it is on my web page. (www.abigailsharpe.com)
