I’m pleased to welcome Layla Frost, author of edgy, sexy contemporary romance. Layla released her first book, Hyde and Seek, out into the wild in April of this year and has since garnered over 1,000 ratings on Goodreads. And her fans are eager to read more of her tatted alpha males. 😉

Onto my questions!

Why did you start writing? I’m a romance fanatic with horrendous insomnia. For me, being asleep before 3AM is a good night. As I tossed and turned one night, I started thinking about all of my favorite book aspects, combining them into one story. For a while, I just thought about it as a way to relax enough to fall asleep. As time passed, I couldn’t shake the story, so I decided to write it down.

I’d actually never intended to share it with anyone. On a whim, I posted a very rough first chapter on Goodreads. And then I deleted it immediately. I wasn’t aware that some people were able to see it in their email. With awesome encouragement and help from Goodreads friends, I got back to work on it and Hyde and Seek became what it is.

What’s your favorite thing about being an author? Not having to wear pants.

Also, connecting with readers and authors. When it comes to any promotional aspects, I’m terrible. I’m horribly shy, so I always “joke” that if this were before the internet, I’d just be lurking in bushes, throwing paperback copies of my book at women walking by. But when someone reaches out on social media to connect with me, I love it. I’ve gotten really close to some people I’d never have known otherwise.

Have you read anything fantastic lately? I’m writing, so I haven’t had time to pick up a book for fun in a while. My to-be-read list is about twenty miles long, though. I’ve got a treasure trove a goodness tempting me on my kindle.

What can readers expect from your books? Lots of humor. Couples that communicate. Tattoos. And hot sex.

Anything new you’d like to share? I’m currently working on book two in the Hyde series, which will be Kase’s story. I’m really excited about it. He’s a lot of fun, but also patient and sweet.
